Surprisingly Didi wasn’t even scare of the water! We had a jolly good time playing with the water.. Looking forward to the next swim with Didi again!
Didi’s first Swim!
Merry Christmas!
As my cousins are not here this year, we are honored to be once again invited by Ah Yi Sinyi to her house to celebrate Christmas.. Once again, thanks for the loving pressie! :D
See this year, I have quite a number of pressies.. Thanks all for the generosity! Oh.. Which pressie should I open first? Mummy says that I should wait till 12 mn before opening.. However I just can’t wait to open them.. :P
Thomas & Friends – A Circus comes to Town
Ok, this is the 2nd show that Mummy has brought me to. See my blur look in the photo? That is because Mummy dug me out of bed during my afternoon nap. But anyway I am a willing party.. hehe..
This time round, Mummy bought the cheapest category. Cos based on the last experience, she noted that I am not too enthusiastic in participating with the crowd. So why waste the money? Well, as long I get to see the show. :P
Anyway, Mummy was very blur.. She forgot to bring her camera, and her handphone really did a bad job in capturing the event. What could be worse when there is only 1 bar of battery left.. Argg.. But luckily, we are still able to capture some scenes to be kept as memory..
Here goes:
Didi at 9 months
See the 2 pearly white teeth that didi has? He has been drooling, and chewing on anything he can get on his hands.. and finally it has erupted..
So how is Didi developing at 9 months? Here it is : -
- Love to play catching with me… Will crawl to catch me while I run..
- Love to snatch my toys.. Something that I hate.. hmp.. And I will call police and say: “Hello.. Police.. Didi naughty boy.. Catch Didi”
- Will test for response.. Drop something and see where it goes..
- Love holding and eating biscuits on his own.. But sometimes it goes everywhere except the mouth
- Able to transfer items from hand to hand..
- Separation anxiety.. Would cry when being carried by unfamiliar people and even when Ah Ma or Mummy walk away
- Although didi is still at the 25th percentile, Mummy just hope that Didi is happy and healthy..*Although she does fret over it time and time again. Well it’s a women thing isn’t it.. :P*
Confession
Sometimes Jareth really drive me nuts over things.. Especially at times when I have only “1 nerve” left and he still tramper on it! This is especially in the following situations:
- Tantrum throwing when he doesn’t get this way, would start to whine, shout, throw things and even hitting.
- Bully Didi, step on his hands and snatch toys away from him.
- Would insist that I take the bottle from him after he has finished drinking.
- Deliberately do things when I told him not to.
- Don’t wanna keep his toys after playing, although he promised that he would keep.
- Don’t wanna bathe, but would not come out after bathing.
There are just so many idiosyncrasies of him that I can’t think of right now. But when he gets to some of the above rituals, it really make me lost my cool. (I did use the cane to whip him on the leg)
There are even times when insane thoughts such as punching him and making him suffer did come to my mind. This is especially so when I am alone with the 2 kids at home. Of course this is just a thought, and I am glad that it never did realised, Jareth is still in one piece and I am still sound! Thank god!
However after executing the corporate punishment, it really pains me… And would apply zambak on him afterwhich..
Sigh.. It’s really not easy to be a mum or even good mum. Although most of the books about parenting would advocate about positive reinforcement, using positive words, refine from corporate punished etc, however when you are in the situation where fire is already burning wildly, all these would just be thrown out of the window!
Or is it because my EQ is not strong enough? Sigh sigh sigh.. Maybe I should be attending some kind of a anger management classes.. Should I? Arggg..
World Kindness Day
13 November marks the “World Kindness Day” Mummy decided to do this little arts & craft with me to make Gerberas! One for Didi and one for me.
You can refer to this website for the print-outs and instructions:
Weaning
Mummy had started giving solids to Didi only when he is about 6 months old. Didi is still not very keen on the solids given to him, some of the food that Didi tried are:
- Baby rice cereal
- Apple
- Potato
- Papaya
- Banana
- Yogurt
- Porridge
- pumpkin
Mummy hopes to introduce more solids to Didi and hopefully his appetite would increase!
Love Playing with Didi
Mummy captured this video of me playing with Didi, but she had totally forgotten about it until she was reviewing the photos in the camera. Enjoy!
Didi at 8 Months
Didi is quite an advance developer, given that he is a preemie. To have a more accurate reflection he is only 6 1/2 months and he is already crawling, sitting steadily and even pulling himself to stand. Kiddos Didi!
Fantastic Memory
Of course it’s me who has fantastic memory! Hee..
Mummy was very impressed by some of the things that I have done, not only it shows that I have fantastic memory but also it exhibits the attentive nature of me.
Example 1
Mummy has been pretty absent minded about a lot of things. When bathing at ah ma’s house, she would always forget to take her facial cleanser to the bathroom. Every time, Mummy would have to shout for Ah Ma to pass her the cleanser. Hence, while Mummy was picking up her towel and clothes, I immediately took the facial cleanser for her.
Example 2
It was very hot these couple of days, and what could be worse when Ah ma’s house do not have air-con. So in order to make the air cooler, Mummy took out the ice pack from Didi’s milk cooler bag to put inside the cooler fan. However she forgot to put it back to the fridge the next morning. Luckily I remembered and took it out, if not it will be difficult to bring Didi’s milk out when we go out kai kai.
How ‘good’..
For these couple of days, my thumb will be showing the ‘good’ sign by default.. See the little red spot on it? This is where part of my skin got scrapped off by Daddy’s shaver.
On Sunday when Mummy was busy attending to didi, I secretly took Daddy’s shaver and started playing with it. When I accidentally cut myself and blood started to ooze out, I don’t even dare to tell Mummy about it. Tried to endure the pain and cover my thumb but it still does not help..
When Mummy realised that I was so quiet, she knew something was amiss..She pried open my hand saw my hand was covered with blood, she was exasperated but yet distressed! Quickly she wash the blood off my hand and bandage my thumb with plaster.
Sigh.. when daddy examine the shaver he saw that part of my skin was attached to it.. Arggg..
Anyway Mummy thought it is a good lesson learnt for me.. See next time if I dare to take Daddy’s shaver to play or not!
Crawling or Slithering?
Funny Conversation
Ah Ma: 阿峻啊,来,写字给 Ah Ma 看
Me: Mai (means dun want in Hokkien), hand pain pain..
Ah Ma don’t know wanna laugh or get angry..
Our plot of land
Oh yes, we finally own a plot of land on earth! Not in Singapore thou (we are not that rich), but in Daddy’s home land! Yippee!
It has always been our dream to live in a 2 storey terrace house, but Daddy know it would be impossible in the Singapore context. Hence this would be an alternate way to fulfill our dreams.
More pictures on our new home!
Upcoming would be the renovation!
Mid-Autumn Festival
Wow, this year finally our RC is ‘working’.. They have organized a mid-autumn festival celebration cum children’s day party. Had free balloons and fun mingling ard..
So what is Didi doing?? Happily observing and making funny faces.. Hehe
Daddy’s Birthday..
Mummy is on Leave
As Mummy is clearing her annual leave, she will try to take it on Friday so that she can bring me back home. So it will seems like it is back to the time when she is on Maternity leave.. As usual she will bring me out to Jurong point to have our hi-tea & shopping.. Yippee.. There would be more of such time ahead..
I am 2 years 8 months
It another few months and I am already coming to 3 years old! Remember what is Mummy’s resolution for me at 3? That is to be able to speak in clear proper sentences. Although I have improved substantially, Mummy still think there is room for improvements. My pronunciation is still not very accurate, and when Mummy try to correct me and it is too tough for me to pronounce I will try to switch topic. Mummy call that 逃避, but I call it 婉转.
There was once Ah Ma was telling Mummy that I tried to teach her in English.. Here’s the conversation:
Ah Ma: 这个是什么?
Me: Lion
Ah Ma: Oh.. Lai on.. huh. .(Ah Ma being not very proficient in english)
Me: 看嘴.. Lion.. (pointing to my mouth)
Ah Ma: 喔,你还会教我啊!
Mummy always tell me to look at her mouth when she teaches me, now I uses the same method on Ah Ma instead.. Ah Ma almost laugh till she tear..
Sometimes Mummy wonders if my late speech development is attributed to multi-language environment that I am in. As you might be aware, Mummy converse in English with me, Daddy in Hokkien and Ah Ma in Mandarin. Anyway, I still have another 4 months to achieve your goals Mummy… Just wait patiently ya!
However Mummy is very pleased that I am fully toilet trained in the day time. Which means that I can go diaperless even during nap time! This also translate to passing the cost to didi instead.
In addition, I am able to wear shoes, wear clothes, brush teeth, wash hands & mouth all on my own as well. As for eating, I still make a mess but at least I am willing to try on my own. But there would be times, I still prefer to be fed.
Oh and not forgetting, all my teeth are already fully erupted. The 2nd molar being the furthest at the back it is not easily detected.
Backdated Entries
Mummy has been so busy with work that she doesn’t have the time to update my blog. Now she has some breather, finally she can update some of the backdated entry.. She can only rely on her failing memory to update whatever she can. And she will will always accord her poor memory to giving birth to the both of us.
Well.. Here’s the list..
1. Countdown to Maternity Leave – Outing Part I
2. Countdown to Maternity Leave – Outing Part II
4. Countdown to Maternity Leave – Outing Part III

Didi's Last 6-in-1 Jab
Didi has been very brave like me! Just a tiny scream from him for the jab and that's it! However Didi also developed fever as well.. But he recovered 1 day after paracetamol! Good job Didi!
My 2nd Movie!
Hey hey.. That is my 2nd movie together with Daddy and Mummy.. Daddy had strike a small fortune via 4D that day.. So he decided to treat us to a movie! Hippee.. sorry Didi got to exclude you again! When you are older we will bring you along okie??
P.S. Dun know if it is Daddy & Mummy who are hooked on movies or me.. Anyway I stand to benefit, so it is fine!
Time Flies..
It has been about 2 months that Mummy started working.. And it has really hectic for her. In a blink of an eye Didi is already 5 months old..
However Mummy is also very upset that Didi is not putting on much weight as per the guide.. But Daddy keep saying that at least Didi is still growing and he is healthy we should not worry that much.. :D Moreover Didi has been meeting most of the milestone as well.. As at 5 mths, he can roll over and even grapping items..
Now.. here’s more photos of us..
Didi knows how to roll over!
Once Didi master the technique of rolling over.. He has been rolling rolling and rolling..
Although Mummy is happy that Didi is meeting the expected milestone till date… But this also means that Mummy would have a lot of ‘turning’ to do.. Hehe..Turning as in turning didi to lie on this back.. Especially during bath time, put put cleaning time, sleeping time, etc..
Well Mummy, that’s a happy problem isn’t it.. And I am sure I had gave you a hard time as well!
Rolling good times Didi!
Didi Loves to Laugh.. Just like me!
Feisty Char..
Countdown to Maternity Leave – Outing Part III, My First Movie
During Daddy and Mummy’s “patoring” days, watching movie is one of their common time-killing activities for them. For now, it is really an luxurious activity with us around.. hehe..
Noticing that I was rather ‘hooked’ on certain movies and being able to sit throughout the 2 hours movie at home and of course the ‘Barney show’ I have attended recently, Daddy suggested to ‘test water’ by bringing me to watch movie for the very 1st time!
As we were late, by the time we went in the cinema it was already pitch dark and the sound was deafening.. I was literally clinging on to Daddy for life! But when the show started, I started to warm up and keep asking them questions throughout the movie.. Daddy got to even remind me to lower my voice…
So what did I watch for my 1st movie?? Tata..
Mummy was also very impressed that Shaw do provide booster seats for kids.. And of course entry is FOC for kids.. What a deal! Look at the rows of Booster seat behind me!
Anyway today also marks the end of Mummy’s maternity leave.. I will be back to my normal day of staying with Ah Mah over the weekends.. :(
