Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Earlier in the morning Daddy requested for a wheel chair to wheel Mummy to see Didi in Special Care Nursery, the nurse in the ward mentioned that she would make arrangement for Didi to be wheeled up. However after hours of waiting, they still did not see Didi. After asking for the nurse for more than 3 times, then they told Mummy that Didi was transferred to NICU instead! Mummy was furious and yet worried about Didi! How could they have did the transfer without her knowledge?? Given Mummy's character, she gave the nurse a earful of thrashing!

Of course they reacted quickly bringing the wheel chair and guided Mummy and Daddy to NICU.

When Mummy saw Didi, she was devastated.. seeing Didi with tubes all over brings tears to her eyes. However the doctor ensured that Didi is doing well. It is just that his lungs are not fully matured and needs the machine to assist him with his breathing.  

Mummy was so upset with the entire incident that she had the gastric attack again. She only got well in the middle of the night. Sigh..

An Unexpected Arrival

Well Dr Yeap is right! Didi can't wait to see the world! Didi arrived at 10.09 pm on 27 February 09.  Which is very near Mummy's birthday. Daddy was commenting that he would be very broke in Jan and February. With my birthday in Jan, Valentine's Day, Mummy's Birthday and Didi's birthday in Feb! Haha..

Tata! Here's Didi! Luckily Didi still arrived at quite a good weight!

Here's Didi and Me! See any resemble? We both have two swirls on our head.. Hehehe.. Mummy was saying that we are both stubborn boys and destined to be brothers.. Hahaha..
 
However as Didi is still a prematured baby hence the pediatrician requested that Didi to be placed in the Special Care Nursery for further observation.  

Contraction!

Ahh.. Mummy had contraction in the office after lunch time! Initially she thought it was gastric but the pain just got intensified. She even tried to clear some of her work before deciding if she should go down to the hospital. Some of her colleagues were also nice enough to volunteer to send her down to the hospital. But she thought it was nothing and did not want to bother them. In the end she took a cab down by herself instead!

When she reached the hospital, she had the monitoring done. After 10 mins, contraction was detected and she was immediately wheeled into the labour ward. As it is only into 34 weeks of pregnancy, Dr Yeap decided to give Mummy a drip to delay the delivery and also given her another jab to ensure that Didi lungs will be stronger in the event that it can't be stopped.

Luckily the jab works wonders, and Mummy was even requesting to be discharged. But Dr Yeap suggested otherwise as she thinks that Mummy might deliver tomorrow!

Mummy hopes that it would not be an accurate prediction, as it would be 1.5 months earlier. Didi would be much better off in Mummy's tummy.. 

Happy Birthday Mummy!

See the nice brownie that Mummy had for her birthday? But too bad she can only see and not eat. This is due to the frequent gastric attack that she has and she got to watch out for her diet. So anything that is caffeine is a absolute no no for her. Well... She was quite upset about it as she did not even ate any birthday cake this year.

But for the well-being of her, it is not worth it enjoying the feel minutes of joy and later getting the 1 day of pain.. Anyway Happy Birthday Mummy! It will be over soon.. :)

Jurong Bird Park

Wow! Free Admission to Jurong Bird Park!! 

This is a special promotion by the tourism board to get Singaporeans to spend money locally instead of overseas. Hence there are a few attractions which are free in the month of February's weekends. Jurong Bird Park is one of them. Being so close in proximity to our home, how can we miss such a attractive promotion?? 

There are only 2009 tickets given out each weekend, hence Mummy woke us up early in the morning in order to get the free tickets! How kiasu of her.. This is my first time and Mummy's first time in Jurong Bird Park. So all the more she is firm to go this time given that it is free.

Mummy never had the interest in Bird Park as she thinks that the variety would be pretty limited. However she is wrong. At the end of the visit, she was very impressed by the collections and set up! A trip worth going!

Childcare Centre

Mummy had her mind made up since last year to place me in Childcare centre after the CNY. She had started sourcing since then and even visited the shortlisted centres. After some due consideration she had placed me in Care Corner, which is close in proximity and affordable.

In the end Mummy decided to pull me out of the centre as she had doubts on the quality of care given and the kind of intellectual development that I will gain. Mummy's colleagues had teased that it is her who has separation anxiety instead of me. Hehe..

Well, Mummy will still send me for formal education but that will be next year. Hence I still have another year to enjoy the freedom!
